Posted by Learn to Check Talks | 16.09.2021

Michelle Lipkinis executive director of the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) in the United States. In this second installment of Learn to Check Talks, we talk with her about how and when we should educate our children so that they have the necessary skills to understand information and navigate safely and meaningfully on social networks. However, Lipkin also stresses the importance of continuing education in media literacy. Our conversation centers around the role of families, teachers and librarians in media education and provides some revealing insights. Among other things, Lipkin calls for the different participants – including governments and platforms – to work together to bring about real changes in the communication landscape.
