Dr. Claire Wardle is co-founder of First Draft, a non-profit organization aimed to protect communities from misinformation. At First Draft, Wardle leads strategy and research. In this conversation with Learn to Check, Dr. Wardle reflects on the evolution of the phenomenon of disinformation, on cognitive biases, and on how journalism, governments and platforms can act to help solve -or at least minimize- this problem. She also shares her ideas on how media literacy should be like in this 21st century, and explains how citizens should act responsibly when they encounter misinformation on social media.
